If you get sent an email that appears to be suspicious, the best course of action would be to send that email to our phishing team. This allows for us to look over the email and determine whether it is safe or not. Below are instructions with screenshots of how to report an email as phishing.
1. Find the email you want to report.
2. Click the fish icon in the upper right hand corner of the email. Doing this will send the email directly to us for inspection.
3. Once that is clicked, wait for an email from PhishMe@everence.com to email you back, letting you know if the email is safe or not.
Alternatively: If you are using the outlook application on a Windows machine, the Phishing report button will be on the top ribbon row to the right side. This will also send the email directly to our phishing team.
On a Mac machine, you must have the email open for the phishing button to work. While your email is open, it is on the upper right side on your ribbon.
The mobile application of outlook has PhishMe as well. To use it, open the email, click the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner and choose the "Report Phishing" button.
Tip: Make sure you are using the Cofense reporting button to report the phishing email. This is the button that is shaped like a fish and that has been discussed through this article. Do NOT use the Microsoft phishing report button. This does not allow us to see if there are threats within the organization and could skew results on any phishing tests we perform. Below is an example of the Microsoft phishing button.
If you need to send in a phishing email, but you don't have the phishing button, you can forward the email to phishing@everence.com and it will be reviewed.
Thank you for your help in making Everence more secure.
